Exclusive: The iPhone 6’s A8 processor is able to play 4K videos

This discovery was made by the engineers of an app called WALTR that lets macOS users upload any video or music files onto their iPhone, iPads or iPods instantly. Moreover, even the ones that aren’t supported by iTunes — FLAC and MKV. They figured out that an iPhone 6 can play 4K video files while testing the app. Even if Apple hasn’t made any public announcements, the iPhone 6/6+ are able to playback 4K videos.
