WWDC 2025: New Tools for Devs (Platform State of the Union: Tools, Models & Swift)

Apple just dropped a bunch of updates for developers at the special event at Apple Park. No big show. No fancy videos. Just real stuff that'll make apps better, faster & smarter.
If you're curious about what's next (even if you're not a dev), here's what actually matters from Apple's WWDC keynote address...
iOS 26 & macOS UI Unveiled
All the built-in buttons, menus & controls now follow Apple's new design style in iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. You don't need to do anything special — just use Xcode 26 and the new look shows up in your app.
iPads even get the red-yellow-green window buttons now. Feels more like a Mac than ever, bringing consistency across all Apple devices.

These UI changes reflect Apple’s biggest interface shift since iOS 7. See what else changed in WWDC 2025's most important announcements that matter for both users and developers.
Apple Intelligence on Vision Pro & Apple Watch
Apple introduced something called Foundation Models — big AI models that live right on your iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro, or Mac as part of Apple Intelligence.
They can answer questions, summarize things, or understand what's in a file — without sending any data online. So it's private, fast & doesn't depend on the internet. This new operating system capability works seamlessly across iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and macOS.

Apple’s Liquid Glass design and system-wide AI features are also transforming user experience. Designers should explore WWDC 2025 design system updates to see how this impacts layout, navigation, and UI flows.
WWDC 2025: ChatGPT Platform Integration
Apple opened the doors — finally. You can now add other AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude straight into your apps with Swift Predictive Model.
More power, more options — without weird tricks or workarounds. Apple developer program members and Apple developer enterprise program members can access these new features coming to iPhones immediately through the Apple developer app.

Swift Platform: Browser Support
SwiftUI now works with Rich Text & Web APIs, which means more advanced stuff is finally possible for Apple Watch, Apple TV, AirPods, and other Apple products.
Even cooler: Swift now runs in the browser thanks to WebAssembly support. Yep, real Swift apps… in Chrome. This opens up next generation possibilities for cross-platform development that the developer community has been requesting.

New Apple Silicon Xcode Tools
No more guessing why something's laggy. Xcode got a new built-in tool that spots bad code & shows where your app is struggling. Just hit run and it tells you what to fix.
No need to install extra tools — it's all there already. Apple engineers and designers built this directly into the workflow, optimized for Apple Silicon.

WWDC Event Impact
This update revealed at WWDC might not grab headlines, but it's a big deal for developers and students in Cupertino and beyond.
Apps will be faster. Smarter. Less buggy. And devs finally get tools that just work across iOS, Apple TV app, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, and all Apple platforms.
Apple previews show this is just the beginning. Apple will also share additional conference information in advance of WWDC25 through the Apple developer forums and apple.com.
